How long does window cleaning last?

e’re often asked how long our professional window cleaning services last. Window cleaning isn’t a daily or weekly regimen, and if done correctly, should only be needed every three to six months on residential properties and one to six months on commercial properties. There are circumstances that may affect how long your windows will stay clean.

Windows that are heavily utilized may also require more frequent cleaning. For example, if you’re frequently opening and closing your windows, using your windows for suctioned shelving, or if pets use your glass for any multitude of purposes, there may be a more pronounced dander or residue buildup. This is common and largely unpreventable, though minor maintenance can help alleviate some of these issues.

The most popular frequency among our residential customers is what we call our Tri-annual service which is every 4 months. This makes for a beautiful outlook and will also preserve the life of their windows, sills, seals, and edging. If you leave windows dirty, it won’t just mean a shorter window lifespan – it’s also unsightly and can lead to reduced property values.

Professional window cleaning should leave you with a clean slate for at least a season, but there are cases where more frequent cleanup may be required. Nashville sees its fair share of clean rain, but your windows may also become dirty after storms if they are fierce. Storm winds may kick up dirt, rocks, or other debris and render your glass unsightly. Though clean windows along with our proprietary cleaning solutions will negate some of the ill effects of storms, it’s not a bulletproof solution.  Please refer to our rain warranty.

If your windows are frequently used or exposed to various situations that result in dirt, streaks, or equivalent, take a proactive approach to prolong your professional window cleaning. Use a damp microfiber towel to clean windows after use, and wipe clean. Ensure no streaks or residue is left behind. Streaking can lead to stains, which will leave your windows in need of cleaning sooner than you may expect.

If you have pets or use your windows for impromptu suction shelving, add a weekly wipedown to your chore list. Pets are often attracted to sunlight, but fur shedding and dander can leave your glass dirty. Though indoor pets and shelving often do not leave residue on your exterior glass, do remember that clean windows aren’t just clean from one angle. A bit of preventative maintenance goes a long way to preserving your glass.
